Morgan Freeman - In Charcoal

Prior to embarking on my HSC major work, in 2023 I exercised my skills in charcoal. Charcoal is a medium I am now very well acquainted with, and have grown to love how forgiving willow charcoal is in particular. I find that it is a medium that can develop so much depth and movement. For such a simple tool it has the capacity to produce such complex textures and shapes. This one took me a couple of months to get done amongst the demands of other assignments in senior high school, I am fortunate to be someone that works quite fast. The whole drawing is an estimated timeframe of 6-7 hours.
