Portrait of a Sculpture

My largest commission yet. I illustrated two large images of a horse statue that is significant to a relative of the client that once oversaw the maintenance and spirit of their family property.
I composed this work in charcoal and had the intention of making something about each of the two works only slightly different. The portraits of this horse head sculpture were of each side of the face, and have different atmospheric qualities. This artwork challenged me to work with very industrial shapes, and took me out of my comfort zone in using variants of charcoal hues.
