My mission and my purpose are the same - to achieve justice for social and environmental issues through creativity. The strengths I lean into include public speaking, visual art and song writing.
But these uniquely human gifts are threatened by AI.
The environment has been under the strain of corporate profit making schemes since the industrial revolution. I feel a strong connection to mother nature and strive to make my mark on this world in her defence.
You can see in the roots and branches of trees, the veins that occupy our human hands. We must not forget our symbiosis with the forests. How the transaction of oxygen and carbon between our respective lungs, is a currency far greater than monetary means. The history of negligence we have imposed upon the phenomenon of this giving, yet finite, Earth - will be our demise.
AI is a confirmation that humanity was never more than a concept. AI is a confirmation that we are on our way out. AI is the author of our final chapter - because we gave up our Earth given hands. Unless we fight with all the light that is left in our chest cavities, for all the light that we no longer see at the end of this tunnel.
It is all well and good for me to talk. Like any other politician. Like any other angry adolescent seeing a fragment of future flooded or burnt down in the headline of a news report. But I know, we are doing what we can with the remaining vessels of activism not yet hindered by legislative or physical obstacles.
I tend to a community garden, the smell and touch of soil is much like a forgotten familiar to the evolution of my soul - wherever it has been. I lead School Strike 4 Climate alongside fellow youth activists in Sydney for a short period, reached out to authors and leading activists in Australia where I could, such as Rebecca Huntley, Craig Reucassel and Costa Georgiadis. I am a vegan by choice, I was pescetarian and then vegetarian in years prior. It's small but it's something. I have exhibition plans lined up, to showcase art made as influenced by the horrors committed against this beautiful planet. The opportunity to speak, to call for action, and to create is all I need. This is what fulfils me.
